Just to confirm, asylum seekers in Home Office accommodation don't pay any heating, electricity or council tax costs.
Asylum seekers aren't in local authority housing, but flats paid for by the Home Office.
The £40 per person, per week is for food, travel etc.
Don't get me wrong, overall the system is abhorrent, but I think there is so little understanding of the actual asylum system that good arguments become diluted with incorrect statements. |
