So this post came from chatting with my pal
who was there last week. I’ve no been there in ages tbh, before the pandemic.
He had a chat with the manager at close, and they said something along the lines of “it’s not what you think it means, it’s about the St Andrews Cross and the stars mean something.” Etc
But av no spoke to them directly about it. I was helping put on an event last year with a predominantly black owned label in Glasgow and they had a country themed night. I suggested Opry and caveated the whole flag thing. At first they thought it was a great idea, like a big fuck you, but ended up patching it obvs. So it’s having an affect on its inclusivity.
I seen someone on this share an article on why they do it, but you’re right. Speaking to them directly is the best thing for it, maybe shed some light on it from our point of view if they haven’t already thought about it.
But they must know, cunts love it, all mixed folk, different ages and that. And then it’s just a heavy awkward way to end a dyno night. Like I know av given them a get out of jail free card in the posts and a few comments, but someone posted below saying “they know exactly which side they’re on”, which is right. How could they be that ignorant? |
