| Comment | When I was at school (2004-2010) they were phasing out punnies with "demerits" which were less serious and you could get them for more infractions such as forgetting your PE kit or your homework. It could be cancelled out with a "merit". At the end of the term if you had too many demerits, you couldn't go to the "Good behaviour reward ceremony" which would be the entire year sitting watching a film on the projector screens in the social area or being able to gunge teachers or something daft like that.
I worked in a few different primary schools from 2018-19 and punnies were unheard of. The kids would basically get detention on a Friday lunchtime where they had to write out a paragraph explaining why their behaviour was unacceptable and what they would do to make sure it didn't happen again. |
