It’s not as simple as what you are thinking. A heavily delayed bus at 6pm results in driver break adjustments, drivers timing out of duty hours etc. The knock on effect lasts for hours. Sometimes for the rest of the night.
Drivers also don’t drive the same route all day so a problem on another route could affect the 60 too. In normal times a spare driver would cover for such situations without passengers noticing. First Bus can’t even cover their basic rota at the moment never mind have standby drivers waiting to pounce.
And they don’t have any sense. So the public are stuck with a subpar transport network that is being ran for the benefit of shareholders and not the benefit of the people who use it. |
