If so I would highly recommend Scalpsie Bay on Bute. It’s beautiful, remote and it has a permanent seal colony on the rocks at the north of the beach, they are great fun to watch.
Best thing about it is you can go there in a day without a car.
Train from Glasgow to Wemyss Bay, then you get the ferry to Bute (only like £6 for a return). From there if you bring a bike with you it’s only about a 30mins cycle to the beach. |
