Part of it, though, is that every cunt wants to live in the middle of the city these days, like it's their god-given right not to have to commute. That's where all the housing pressure is coming from here, the fact that everyone in their 20s/30s wants to be where it's at rather than a train ride away. Flats in and around the centre, with the exception of proper shitey bits, have never been cheap. Get a mile or two out of town and things are much more 'affordable'. That's not really different to how it's always been.
