Addiction is a disease, no more a choice than skin colour, this is a fact.
People don't choose to have diseases.

I'm not comparing my own journey with anyone else's and haven't mentioned a thing about my own addiction, I have however said I've been in recovery for over 21 years, funny how you are attempting to miss that point and my stance on discrimination and rhetoric.
I also worked with people seeking recovery for well over a decade and the language you use, and others have and still do keeps people locked in addiction more often than not, it takes away humanity from people, it allows you to justify the ignorance, it allows you to categorise using near sighted views and nod your head when someone says "Junkie"
It's a shocking term to use to describe another human being. |
