| Comment | Surely days like these are just what you make of them on your own terms. Of course bars will be overcrowded and noisy. I used to enjoy that and the camaraderie among strangers on hogmanay. Now I can't be fucked with the crowds and noise I don't bother. A low key house party with a few good friends is more up my street these days but if I couldn't be arsed with that I just wouldn't bother. You don't need others' validation to enjoy or not enjoy something. There's nothing wrong with wanting to go get smashed in a heaving bar and nothing wrong with wanting to stay home and go to bed at 9pm.
The answer to "am I the only one" is no, of course you're not, you don't need to excuse or explain the way you feel and you don't need strangers to validate your feelings. |
