| Comment | By back in the day, you mean 5 years ago? The shop right beside Dyke Road had someone shot. My brother lived in Yoker and I worked on a job there for a good year. We had a guys car get firebombed in broad daylight. Not more than 4 years ago.
When I was a kid, in the 90’s, Yoker would be one of the shitehole places to avoid. My brother lived on Bouvre street for till about 2015 and it was absolutely fine. Someone did get murdered on that street which stopped him going to his work one day, but the only real dodgy bit I reckoned was Spiershall Terrace. Always seemed to be some bams knocking about there outside the sports centre when I was younger.
On reflection, 2 murders in 10 years maybe isn’t a great statistic. |
