Glasgow used to have Mayfest in the mid/late 80's. All pubs were automatically allowed to open until 2AM. The year we were the European city of culture saw an additional 2 hours added to the license; 4AM closing was fun for the month.
I may have some dates and times wrong - it was a long time ago and the pubs were open until 4 :)
