Councillors also dictate that their streets are cleaned more regularly, grass cut more regularly and roads gritted more regularly and also you're forgetting the back handers. Setting up deals for themselves and their mates, land being sold cheap to mates and bought back from council for 5 times the price. You're forgetting the outsourcing of mechanical equipment and other gear to their mates companies too. I've worked in councils and I could write a book on the amount of corruption I've seen. I'd believe what I've seen and heard with my own eyes over some punter on Reddit who goes by what's on paper. Council make great paper trails. Grounds managers make over 30k a year for doing hee haw. Transport managers make close to 40k for hee haw. The amount of fuel I've seen being wasted and stuff being stolen is ridiculous but aye it all pays for our good old council services. Shut up. |
