It does seem getting a cheap car would be comparable in terms of price and then you don't have to worry about availability and getting to a pick up point too.
Additionally, you could use it for other trips locally to see friends and family or go to supermarket etc.
But I'm with you, i wfh 50% of the time and other half it's in town so taking a car isn't possible. I do feel that it's a waste just having it for weekend use and occasionally in the evenings.
Pity car hire clubs aren't cheaper, but it wouldn't make sense for say govt to subsidise it when public transport is much more sustainable environmentally.
One other option could be the likes of blablacar, but then you're at the mercy of others plans and you could end up traveling with weirdos 😂 |
