| Comment | Unless I'm grossly underestimating the number of people willing to risk their physical safety, any spontaneous outbreaks of violence would be put down quite easily by the police, and I don't see anything more organised as likely.
Also consider that this is something a Conservative government, especially one struggling in the polls, would see as a lifeline to be enthusiastically grasped and exploited to the fullest extent possible: compliant media would highlight the brutality of the rioters / inevitable looting, and army leave would be cancelled "just in case". |
