It's a legal tenet known as "joint and several liability". Common in the deeds for new build flats. Basically you're on the hook for a share of damage, debts etc regardless of who actually caused it.
You need to get a copy of the deeds but if it's a newer build flat then it's guaranteed to be joint and several liability. If it's older then it's much less likely unless at some point the owners signed up to a new set of deeds |
