| Comment | I've been drinking there about thirteen years. I've never quite understood why it has an unfriendly reputation, other than the signs up sometimes saying "no subcrawls" which is, frankly, a blessing! Even when I was a student there was no issue, so long as you're not being loud or obnoxious you're welcome in. Ronnie who worked there up until about 2015 used to know exactly what beers I wanted - I'd walk in and he'd be like "Alright StonedPhysicist, you want a pint of number 7 or 9 today." and be pouring before I even sat down!
But if you like your ale, and a pub that'll let you bring food in (bless the Curry Pot and Dumpling Monkey) there's really no better place around. I've only just worn off the hangover from being there for my mate's birthday last night! |
