Comment | One thing I wish they would sort out is journeys outwith the boundary that are not regulated.
In London the daytime tariff is roughly £3.10 per mile for the first 6 miles, then after 6 miles it switches to £3.70 per mile. This is to compensate a driver for the cost of returning to their area.
In Glasgow if leaving the City boundary the drivers used to charge the meter + 1/3. In recent years they seem to just make up a price. Been quoted everything from £25 all the way to £70 for less than a ten mile journey to EDC area.
I’m happy to pay a fair price but would rather it was built in to the meter rate for the sake of consistency, or they would go back to using meter and a third. |
