Theres a book by Stephanie Kelton called 'The Deficit Myth' which properly articulates exactly what you are saying, that currency issuing countries like the UK, the BOE, finances all government expenditure, rather than the taxpayer and that is true, but it's not framed like that in the the capitalist free market in which we operate.
Unfortunately however, all of your main political parties have shaped the narrative to make people think a government must tax and borrow before it spends, which frankly, is a power of old shite, driven home by Thatcher in the early 80's and clung to by almost every mainstream political party since unfortunately. |
