I’m not an SNP fan…

… BUT what is the solution when the costs to provide services outweighs the budget? Labour et al will kick up shit about these proposals - but they aren’t offering a solution.

Why are people considering striking?
Why is the cost of living crisis occurring?
Why is the council & Scottish government struggling financially?
Who decides these budgets?
Why do many Local Authorities have little assets or reserves?
Why are energy companies posting record profits whilst paying little tax?

How much of the problems faced are within your Local Authorities control?
How much is within Hollyrood Control?
How much can your actions change?
Can you vote to change this?

Would you rather cut…
Employment services? Adult literacy? Training provision for young people?
Education? School days? Free meals? Nursery hours?
Social work services? Child protection? Foster placements? Kinship support?
Adult care? Care at home? Hospital discharge? Care homes?
Refuge & recycling? Less collections? Less recycling? Fewer dumps?
Housing & repairs? Less housing provision? Fewer/longer repairs? No alternate options?
Roads & parks? More potholes? Less grass cutting? Less maintenance in parks?
Addiction services? No rehabs? Less outreach support?

Criticise & critique the councils (not just Glasgow) - but also think about how and why they are in the positions they are in.

If any party had an answer - I would encourage them to provide a detailed plan so whoever is in power can make things better for people. Surely it’s worse to sit on the answers & let people suffer for the sake of proving another party can’t solve the problems thus letting people suffer.
