But in the long term they bring in more high tech and specialised industry. It's no coincidence that Glasgow has gone through a tech revolution in the last few years, with factories producing lasers, microsatellites, medical products etc.

Plus it's not the students' fault local services are underfunded. They're just trying to get an education. Local government shouldn't have to rely mostly on council tax. It should receive greater funding from Westminster and Holyrood.
