Most of my mates in Glasgow are just people I've met in the local metal scene over the years. Christ, I met my Mrs in Rufus through a guy I knew from the Crow Bar.
Point being go out and mingle. Folk in the rock and metal scene are, for the most part, pretty welcoming.
