I probably edited before you seen.. so I am assuming England is home.

If the banks don’t put numerical values on homes in England then how do they know if the numerical value you offer is too high? This is getting a bit pointless now but if you are genuinely looking at buying a house soon then I recommend you read up on this and stop being so dismissive with “people have told me this and that”

If you put an offer on a home in England the bank 100% will put a numerical value against your home and will decide if your offer is too high or not and people there most certainly do decide to fund that portion above the banks valuation with their own money.

I thought you might have googled it even while replying to me but obviously not.

Please do if you are going to buy a house or move country based on this
