Lots wrong. It is not “super uncommon” to tip here. Maybe in a pub, or somewhere where you order food at the bar, but in a restaurant, where you have ordered and been served a the table, 10% is the norm, unless the service or food is shit.

The right thing to do is to ask for the 10% to be removed and then leave the equivalent in cash - it’s the best chance of the server getting it, and not going in the owners pocket.

You got a discount off the bill with a voucher. I’d have still tipped the same % based on what the bill would have been before the discount.

Everyone should have to work on hospitality or retail once in their life, to appreciate why tips are important.
