If I've had a very nice meal and experience I don't mind tipping as I see fit. I usually gauge how much I tip by the quality of the food, place and how I was treated by the waiter / waitress. And it's never enough to subsidise a shitty wage, it's more of a gesture of thanks. But forcing a tip before I've even sat down is ridiculous and arrogant. I've yet to experience this but I'm fairly sure if it's up to me I'll choose not dine there.
