I suppose my big question here is when they say yoghurt pots, do they mean plastic #5 (Polypropylene) since that's so commonly used in packaging for all sorts of things and generally is quite rigid and takes up a lot of green bin space. If we can get to a situation where people can just be told **all** plastic can go in this bin, it will make a big difference. At the moment people don't want to sift their plastic (I do, but it's a hassle) so either fling it all in the blue bin contaminating the collection or put it in general waste which means bins are overflowing.

When the council told us that almost 70% of green bin waste was recyclable I actually wonder how much of that was plastic that *is* recyclable but Glasgow doesn't recylce (as well as any contaminated card or paper waste), I did ask my councillor if they had raw data behind it, but never heard back.

I still think this could be a massive leap forward, just really hope it is a change that will actually bring a benefit and not just swapping stuff about without actually changing anything.
