| Comment | Depends on the coincil, but you'll probably face a long wait for a council house. If you explain your situation and it meets their criteria you may be offered a place sooner. I'd recommend speaking to Citizens Advice who'll be able to offer help and advice. Regarding having the young child, some council houses aren't deemed suitable for children - high rise flats where I am in South Lanarkshire for example. Sorry you're going through this.
