Try Govanhill housing association, if that's in an area you'd consider. A friend of mine in a similar situation to you (separated, shared custody of two kids) managed to get a flat fairly quickly. But not sure where you'd end up on the list though if you still technically own your old house. Worh a try ! Good luck
