Cons:
- Usually non energy efficient and you’ll be cold and pay a fortune in energy bills
- Zero soundproofing - I personally couldn’t cope with working from home and couldn’t sleep in my bedroom half the time because I could hear people talking and watching tv from downstairs (and then I started hearing the second set of neighbours through the wall as well - that’s when I moved)
- Imo the majority of tenements in Glasgow are poorly maintained so if you’re buying you’re likely to end up with external repair costs and other issues like leaks etc.
In my humble opinion tenements are a waste of money, especially now that they’re grossly overpriced and u don’t really get value for money. They are no longer fit for modern living and you’re much better off getting an energy efficient new build. |
