Problem is a high percentage of new builds build quality is absolutely shocking hence why there’s a whole industry for “snaggers” - I can deal with paying a bit more in heating for a flat that isn’t going to fall down - it’s been there 120 years, I’ve had no issues compared to my friends who’ve bought new builds on estates and had structural problems, leaks, gardens sinking etc.

Plus they’re absolutely nowhere near anything and their lives revolve around cars - whereas I can walk to shop/gym/park/restaurants/station within 2 minutes which is a major benefit, but hey horses for courses.
