No it doesn't, you jut made that up. It just has to be a word that is almost entirely used informally, is more common in spoken language than written, and restricted to a specific context or group of people. Glaikits use in the English language is all of those things.

Scots itself is not slang, saying 'who is that glaikit looking guy up the back of the bus?' is not Scots, is English with a Scots word chucked in as a wee bit of slang.

Someone saying the language of Burns is just slang is absolutely wrong, someone saying our current use of the word glaikit is slang is 100% correct.
