I've lived in both cities and I feel people in Glasgow are more friendly and helpful. Like for example in Glasgow if you were 10p short for your bus fare, you'd get three or four people offering to help you off the bat, no questions asked. But in Edinburgh folk would look all about them for someone else to help before they offer.

People in Edinburgh don't say excuse me either, they just try and squeeze past you.

Also, going out for food/drinks is just cheaper. Though Glasgow is catching up.
