I live in Germany half the time, used to be full time. There's definitely issues with their rail network (trains cancelled without explanation, chaotic last minute platform changes, lack of information, etc) but compared to here it's miles ahead in my experience. And they have a much, much larger system used by a fuck load more people. Plus most of their trains are much quicker and better connected than ours. Oh, and I can buy a cheap ticket on the bus at the airport that covers all public transportation for a journey covering hundreds of miles. Here, I'm fucked if I have to rely on even two buses half the time.
