| Comment | Yes I'm familiar with the Dutch progression towards cycling. The change was not so much pro-cycling as anti-car, and that was because thousands of people - and critically in the public perception, hundreds of children - were being killed by cars every year. With the advances in safety over the last 50 years and the increasing infatuation with cars, I don't think we'll ever find ourselves in a comparable situation. |
