Got a mate who works out of GlasGo

Car - £175 / week
Pda rental - £150 / week
Insurance - £25 / week
Plus £1 for every job the office gives him

That’s £350 in the red before you kick a ball and put in fuel. They have fully electric Nissan Leafs that save in fuel but would cost in time to charge.

Going it alone, your car would need to pass the council taxi inspection, pay for plates and have the proper insurance that could be £4k a year. Then you need to join a private hire company like GlasGo or Uber and still pay their fees.

As others have said, to get a Glasgow license you’ll need the SQA course then wait for the City Council to issue your license. The whole process takes months.

If you want a hackney license you’ll need to add the topograph test in too and find a cab to buy or rent, which are in short supply at the moment.
