Ok. Here’s me dealing with the concerns. The reality is you’re being lied to about these people. It’s called ‘scapegoating’. It’s a distraction technique. There are people out there who are making your life harder and my life harder too. They’re ruining our communities and taking away our services. These people however are not asylum seekers. They’re the people in power who have a lot of money and a lot of influence and they control 99% of the media you consume and they bombard you with lies. Lies that tell you the reason your life is shit is because some poor bastard who left their entire life behind in a ravaged country and is scraping by on a fiver a day living in a hotel in a country that’s totally alien to them with people camped outside telling them they’d cheerfully murder them. They get you so riled up by these scapegoats that you completely miss the way those in power fuck you over again and again and again and again and again. You’re right to be angry. I’m fucking angry. But I’m angry at those responsible. Not those poor bastards that just need a hand. |
