in my case, it was the woman who worked at the place that assesses you. this was about 5-6 years ago so she might not be there anymore but i do have a story of dealing with her. it's pretty heavy so i'm gonna put it behind a spoiler. CW for self harm and suicide.

>!so, i was homeless about 5-6 years ago. i had became homeless due to a combination of issues but the big one was related to my abusive mother. basically i'd been couch surfing for a few months and was recommended i go there after a suicide attempt. i went to the place in the gorbals and after 4 hours of waiting, i got invited in. the woman who worked there just came across as really bitter and unsympathetic. she asked why i was there. i told her i was homeless and trying to get away from an abusive mother. she said "how bad could she be if she was willing to put a roof over your head?" she asked me how did i find out about the place and i said to her the doctor told me to come here and apply after i had a suicide attempt and that you'd help me. she wanted to know how and i told her. she then asked if i self harmed (which i did) and started demanding to see the marks. i don't want to get too graphic but it was bad enough that i did need to go to the hospital for it. i told her i wasn't comfortable. she grabbed my arm, rolled up my sleeve and then said "that's not so bad" which made me feel unsafe to the point of tears. she just responded "stop crying or i'll be forced to have the police escort you away" !<

the worst part is, i went back with a social worker 2 weeks later and got her again. she recognized me but because the social worker was with me, she was putting on a smile and being nice. when i told my social worker that's the woman i got before, he just said "i've heard stories about her. let me do all the talking" later that night, i was in a shelter. i wanna say the clyde place shelter was both great and bad at the same time. on one hand, the staff there were so nice and helpful. they got me the help i needed and i wouldn't be where i am without that. the downside was it was a rough place. i kept myself to myself in there.
