How about looking for a room rather than a flat for yourself? You'll be splitting bills etc. if you're not earning a lot all your utilities, council tax and personal bills will creep up on you.

[Check out spareroom](https://www.spareroom.co.uk/flatshare/?search_id=835205335&) and you can usually find places on there in your budget that include all bills allowing you to budget more... if you don't fancy that long term at least you've got somewhere affordable to stay while you look for something else. the quality of flat will probably be higher too... more 'liveable'.
