Balmaha sucks to get to on public transport but if you can get there then Conic hill is a crowd pleaser, the train up to Balloch is nice and quick not loads of scenic views though. I would maybe consider Kilpatrick hills if you want a small walk or Ben Challum / The Cobbler / Ben Narnairn etc if you want a bigger walk.
