I disagree. To me, accessibility is being on an equal footing to people without disabilities. If a non disabled person doesn't have to ask, why does a disabled person have to? I'm hearing impaired - I really don't want to have to talk to someone just to get access to something that should be accessible anyway.

It's great that you've never struggled, I can assure you that others have. I take trains from my local train station and return by bus because there are too many steps for example. There's no lift access.
