Unfortunately our roads were built like racetracks. The public are now becoming more and more aware of this.

Urgent action is required to massively reduce the number of cars in our city and for the cars that must travel the speed limit should be set at 20mph with severe penalties for non compliance.

In Glasgow six pedestrians have been killed on our roads in the last 13 days.

As a cyclist I witness daily madness from car drivers who’s frustration has gone through the roof due to the inability to get anywhere because of the obscene levels of cars on the roads.

The case of the Nigerian student who was killed on St Vincent Street is an example of this madness. I was able to witness the aftermath of this tragedy. The car involved was pulverised after the impact. I believe the car collided with street furniture or other vehicles in an effort to avoid the pedestrian. This happened in a 30mph zone. Glad to see the driver has been arrested and hope that the recent changes in the law will allow for a consideration of a life sentence.
