Personally I'd opt for a branded TRV every time. I've always fitted Drayton or Danfoss and honestly never replaced one because they've failed. I'm not a plumber (Marine Engineer to trade) but always done my own plumbing & radiator installs at home.

The lockshield is the other non trv valve on your radiator. It's likely just got a cap on it rather than an actual fitted handle / head that you can turn but you might be lucky and have useable heads that you can close off the valve with on at least one of them that you can pop off and use to shut the others. If not if you have a shifter just use that to turn it off.
