As a 95% pedestrian 5% driver I look at car indicators to gauge whether I can cross at junctions. I know in theory we should perhaps wait for the green man at least at crossings (where one exists), but the reality of our shitty weather and long wait times at crossings mean people will make a judgement call, and where there is no pedestrian crossing as is the case on most roads, that's their only option. I'd like to see drivers educated to indicate their intentions for other road users. Nobody wants to kill someone.
