Comment | Take a look around this post and others on this sub and all you get is people droning on and on about banning cars from here there and everywhere and turning everything into cycle paths and pedestrian only zones. My reference to pubic transport and cycling being more championed is in reference to this. I know the cycling infrastructure and public transport networks are shite but that shouldn't mean it's open season on car drivers as most car drivers drive through necessity, not for fun. The roads are shite and the costs are high but that's where we're at. All this bashing car drivers and saying shite like the city centre should be car free is pure pie in the sky. In an ideal world yeah, but ffs it's never gonna happen in 50 years let alone anytime soon.
Ban cars from the city centre and within a year it's a desolate wasteland and business and retail just moves out to new "centres". |
