| Comment | My dad was a teacher in the 70s and gave the belt to my aunt (this was before he met my mum). This is, of course, a story brought up every Christmas!
When it got banned, he brought the belt home and it was kicking about our house for years. Me and my siblings used to chase each other around the garden and whip each other with it.
We were talking about it recently and he said he felt terrible looking back but all the teachers did it and nobody questioned it.
He said he used the belt exactly 22 times and after he had his first baby (my brother) he wouldn’t use it again.
He is a very passive guy and never once laid a hand on any of us. |
