I think you’ve been watching one too many fast n furious movies! - Never watched one in my life.

Wide roads all around the city? M8? Clydeside expressway? Where are folk racing in Glasgow? - Yes the roads are very wide in the city centre at times and are very difficult to cross. Union Street is four lanes wide right in the middle of a busy shopping area. Renfield Street varies from between 2 and 4 lanes down its length. The junction at Queen Street and St. Vincent Place was always a famous corner racing junction but it has been narrowed and more right angled by the installation of the wooden decking on both sides. In general if you spend time in the city you will see maniacs accelerating right up to 30-40 plus over short distances and especially on the long straight roads like St. Vincent Street. The M8 and Expressway are not part of my observations as pedestrians and cyclists don't use them.

Like you said, there’s crossing points at junctions, placed at junctions to avoid unnecessary stops of cars to just side and pump out co2! You’re not far from a junction in Glasgow, you want crossings every 50 Yards or something? - Yes every 50 yards / metres would be a good starting point. Cars that don't have automatic switch off during stops should be permitted in the city as part of the new LEZ restrictions coming into force in June this year. If pumping out CO2 is an issue for you then I am pleased to hear that, keep your car away from the centre then please.

Grid iron street pattern Glasgow has too many sweeping curved junctions! Behave. - Granted there aren't that many of them in the actual city centre but I was talking city wide and gave one example. You should go and look to see what I mean. Go for a walk to Beith Street and don't observe from your car.

How is a horse and cart not safe on roads today! Do you often see brides bodies at the side of the road in a multi horse pile up? - I think riding a horse and cart is a risk not worth taking in Glasgow. Imagine trying to navigate a horse through Charing Cross. I would say highly risky.
