| Comment | I moved to Glasgow 20 years ago and live here permanently but still see it a bit from the outside. Some areas get better and better (I live in Shawlands) and the city centre has never recovered from the Covid lockdowns and the WFH that's still going on.
But I feel the UK generally feels poorer than the European countries I regularly visit. At first it was a carefree relaxed shabbiness that o liked about Glasgow, just because people are less materialistic than in most other places but now it feels left behind (I think it's the UK as a whole but Glasgow maybe more because it always felt more European, less British than the rest of GB ) |
