Westminsters timetable for banning sales of NEW petrol/diesel vehicles is 2030, which is a policy Scotland has no choice but to follow. Infact there was brief (and admittedly later discredited) talk that Scotland might try and push this back to 2032. There was no talk of banning them entirely, except maybe in some bizarre local Green fringe factions, and even then I doubt it.
It’s a self fulfilling one of course, because when it’s clarified that petrol vehicles won’t be banned in 2023 (because they were never going to be) then that’ll be because of Sturgeons resignation.
There’s also plenty of stuff about the bottle deposit scheme which is apparently apocalyptic. |
