My point is that a pedestrian can never be classed as reckless as the Highway Code has been updated to explain the hierarchy on the road.
It’s like laws in other countries that protect cyclists from motorists. Hit a cyclist and it is automatically your fault.
It’s excess speed on our roads that causes death and serious injury and that is why a pedestrian stepping on the road without making proper checks is at risk of death. Car drivers have the better field of view and must be more careful. |
