Thing is what will happen to the city in the winter . December and January Viccy Rd cycle path was dead . In January Viccy rd had 13400 cyclists use on the 31st . That averages out at 432 a day . Obviously early January there were days with only a couple of hundred riders.
Build it and they will use it in the summer and we can shut down the city in the winter . Yes I know about appropriate clothing for conditions and that people ride all year in Helsinki , but that was not the case here . |
