About 1 in 100 people are affected by schizophrenia... so for 100,000 people that's 100 people per 100,000. The population of the UK is 66,000,000,000. That means there's 660,000 people living with SOME FORM/LEVEL of schizophrenia. Schizophrenia itself is a spectrum. Not every one of these people have severe forms of schizophrenia, actually about 50% of those people know they have it and a huge proportion of them can have normal fulfilling lives.. it not being a death sentence or a prison sentence in a mental health hospital. So let's half that 660,000 to 330,000 of people have serious life changing/threatening levels of schizophrenia. 66,000,000,000 people in the UK. Here's a good relative number as well. In the UK, about 1 in every 103 people have epilepsy. That's over 600,000 people in the UK. Do I really need to sit and type more about the dangers of opiates, the consequences of opiates? Multiple Sclerosis affects over 130,000 people in the UK. Over 700,000 in the UK have glaucoma. These conditions I have mentioned are just the tip of the iceberg of conditions that Cannabis can have life changing, life improving effects on the user, there's currently at least 200 other illnesses cannabis has been studied extensively and shown in trials to be successful in helping with.
