It becomes a question of how much you value your time then weighing it against the quality of life increase you will get from living in Largs (if any)
You will be spending 6-12 hours a week commuting. That is basically a full days work unpaid, where you can’t do much else.
Then factor in that you will be paying significantly more for the privilege of that commute.
Think about what happens when there is a breakdown in public transport. You finish after a hard day at the office, trains are suddenly off, no rail replacement at short notice and the infrequent Largs bus drives by full. Do you wait half an hour and chance getting the next one or stump up for a taxi and wipe out a days wages.
If you are looking to escape the city, there are towns and villages in Glasgow’s surrounding commuter towns that feel suburban/semi rural, but you’ll only be 10 miles from work, rather than 30. |
